Package 1

Three Day Goboboseb Mining Excursion

This tour lets you fully emerge into the Goboboseb lifetsyle, departing from Swakopmund and arriving at the Stone Age Cabin. Three days of exploring the area, mining and visiting the village. You will be completely off the grid in this time, which makes for a perfect digital detox.

The tour starts from N$ 10 000 per person and a minimum of 2 paying adults is applicable. A 25% deposit of the total is payable upon booking to secure your dates.

Departure:

Slow Town Coffee Roasters
Corner of Daniel Tjongarero Ave & Tobias Hainyeko, Swakopmund.

Day 1:

We begin our adventure by departing from Swakopmund and heading off-road along the iconic Skeleton Coast. Our first stop will be Cape Cross, home to a large and vibrant seal colony. From there, we’ll journey east toward the Goboboseb Mountains, with several scenic stops along the way to explore ancient Bushmen paintings, the fascinating Welwitschia plants, and the vast, unspoiled landscapes that stretch out before us.

The day culminates at our Stone Age Cabin nestled in the Goboboseb Mountains. As the sun sets, we’ll indulge in a traditional Namibian BBQ under a starlit sky, with the Milky Way overhead.

Day 2:

After a restful night, we rise early to make our way to the 3 Tree Claim for a full day of mining and exploration. We’ll dig for treasures while taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, including the Brandberg Mountain in the distance.

Around midday, we’ll break for lunch at the cabin before heading back up the mountain for more mining and adventure. As the day winds down, we’ll return to the cabin to unwind by a crackling fire, enjoy a cold drink, and watch the sky light up with a stunning fiery sunset.

Day 3:

On our final morning, we take it slow with a delicious breakfast spread on the cabin’s deck, soaking in the fresh mountain air and the tranquil surroundings. After breakfast, we begin packing for the journey home—but not before one last adventure!

We’ll take a different route on the way back, passing through the Messum Crater. Here, we’ll discover more ancient Bushmen paintings and witness the stark contrast between the red-brown rocks of Goboboseb and the unique terrain of the crater. Our journey concludes in the afternoon as we make our way back to Swakopmund, where we’ll end the trip with a sundowner drink at Tiger Reef, watching the waves roll in along the beach.

Three tree claim

The Mine

Three Tree Claim was established by Alfred Nama nearly 30 years ago and has since become known for producing world-class crystal specimens. The mine is renowned for its striking purple and blue crystals, beautifully set against a Basalt matrix.

In 2020, Alfred approached Riaan with an incredible opportunity to acquire the mine, and with great excitement, we stepped into the world of small-scale mining. Since then, we’ve unearthed numerous stunning specimens, and we’re eager to see what other treasures this remarkable claim has yet to reveal.

Stone Age Cabin

The Stone Age Cabin was built in 2021 as our personal retreat, a place we could call home near our beloved Three Trees.

We found the perfect spot on a small terrace, offering stunning views over a dry riverbed.

While the days can be sweltering, the nights are truly magical. As the temperature drops, the sky comes alive with the brilliance of the Milky Way, surrounded by millions of stars so bright, it feels as though you're gazing into another universe.

Three Tree Crystals

Each crystal in this gallery is unique in aesthetics, the way it was mined, and how it got here on the website.

Each crystal has a story and a history. There’s a lot of blood, sweat and tears that goes into extracting them, but all so very worth it.

Please enjoy the photo collection of the 3 tree claim crystals.
